When I visited Kyoto, I bought Uji matcha and a chasen (bamboo whisk).
I love whisking the matcha at home—the matcha latte is so delicious that I want to drink it again and again!
Ingredients
| Matcha powder | 1.5 tsp |
| Hot water | (just enough to dissolve the matcha, about 1–2 tbsp) |
| Milk | 200ml |

I bought a domestic chasen from YUGEN in Kyoto, and the Uji matcha (Horai no Mukashi) from Ippodo Tea Co. The cup I used was purchased at a market in Australia.
Instructions
1⃣ Put the matcha powder into your latte cup and whick with the dry chasen to make it smooth.

2⃣ Add a little hot water and whisk with the chasen for about 1 minute until frothy.
Tip: A small whisk works fine too!

3⃣ Heat 200 ml of milk while frothing it with an espresso machine’s milk steamer.
If you don’t have an espresso machine, you can heat the milk in the microwave and then froth it with a milk frother.

4⃣ Pour the frothed milk into the matcha.
