When I went to an American-owned burger shop, I tried a sandwich filled with Cajun beef — and it was absolutely delicious!
That’s when I thought, “If I buy Cajun spice, maybe I can make this kind of American-style food at home anytime!”
Finally, I found this Cajun spice at Kaldi (a Japanese import food store).
It goes really well not only with beef but also with chicken and shrimp, so I’m planning to try it with different dishes.
It also pairs perfectly with rice, and I thought it would be great wrapped in a tortilla with some cheese — kind of like a Cajun beef taco!

It’s mildly spicy — even people who don’t like spicy food can enjoy it.
It has a garlicky, herby flavor with a strong aroma that fills your kitchen as soon as you start cooking.
Ingredients
| Thinly sliced beef | 350g |
| Onion | 1/2 |
| Garlic | 1 clove |
| Olive oil | 1 tbsp |
| Cajun spice | 1 tbsp + ½ tbsp later |
| Salt and black pepper | to taste |
| Cooked rice | 2 bowls |
| Egg | 2 |
Instructions
1⃣ Prep
Cook the rice in advance.
Thinly slice the onion and garlic.
Mix the beef with 1 tbsp of Cajun spice and set aside.

2⃣ Make fried garlic
Heat olive oil in a frying pan and sauté the garlic over low to medium heat until golden.
Remove the garlic (keep the oil in the pan) and set it aside for topping later.

3⃣ Sauté the onion
In the same pan with the garlic oil, sauté the onion over medium heat until soft.

4⃣ Add the beef
Add the beef and cook until the color changes.
Sprinkle ½ tbsp of Cajun spice, then season with salt and black pepper.

5⃣ Fry the eggs
Fry the eggs sunny-side up.
Serve the rice on a plate, top with the beef, fried garlic, and eggs.
