This time, I used MUJI’s Handmade Kit: Taiwanese Stir-Fried Rice Vermicelli (Chaomi Fen with Dried Shrimp).
The package includes rice vermicelli noodles, Taiwanese-style sauce, and dried shrimp toppings—so all you need to do is prepare your own fresh ingredients to enjoy authentic Taiwanese flavors right at home.
Although the package shows shrimp on the front, pork is also commonly used in Taiwan, so I made this version with pork, garlic chives (nira), and onion.

Ingredients
| MUJI Handmade Kit: Chaomi Fen (for 2 servings) | 1 package |
| Pork | 300-400g |
| Salt | 1about 10 shakes |
| Garlic chives (nira) | 1/2 bunch (about half a bag) |
| Onion | 1/2 |
| Sriracha sauce | (optional, to taste) |
I’ve been to Taipei twice. During my visits, I explored the night markets and joined the local crowds lining up for delicious street food. Everything was so tasty that I found myself wishing I could stay longer just to eat more!
While cooking this dish, the moment I added MUJI’s sauce, the aroma instantly reminded me of Taiwan’s night markets. It was such a nostalgic and comforting scent — I thought, “This smells exactly like Taiwan!”
Cooking Taiwanese food at home can seem intimidating, but this kit made it simple and fun. My husband loved it too and said, “This is so good!”
It wasn’t quite filling enough as a main dish, so we enjoyed it as a flavorful side with white rice.
Instructions
1⃣ Slice the onion thinly and cut the garlic chives into 2 cm pieces. Lightly season the pork with salt.

2⃣ Heat 1 tbsp of sesame oil in a frying pan and stir-fry the pork until it’s halfway cooked.

3⃣ Add the onion and stir-fry until it starts to soften.
4⃣ Add the chives, 250 ml of water, and the MUJI rice vermicelli. Cover with a lid and steam for 3 minutes.
(Don’t worry if the noodles aren’t fully submerged in water—steam will soften them perfectly.)

5⃣ Add the MUJI stir-fry sauce and cook until all the liquid has evaporated.
6⃣ Plate the noodles, sprinkle the dried shrimp toppings from the kit, and drizzle with Sriracha sauce if you like it spicy.
