When I visited an American-style burger shop, I tried deep-fried Oreos for the first time—and they were so delicious that I decided to recreate them at home!
They taste absolutely amazing with vanilla ice cream, and you can enjoy a fun American carnival vibe right in your own kitchen.
Deep-fried Oreos were introduced in 2001 by Charlie Boghosian, also known as “Chicken Charlie” or “The Man Who Fries Everything,” a 16-year-old Armenian settled in the United States, at the L.A. County Fair.[1][2] Boghosian dipped Oreos in pancake batter, deep fried them, drizzled them with chocolate syrup and served them with powdered sugar.

It’s a dessert that was born at American fairs and is still incredibly popular today. I find it charming and very “American” that they deep-fry sweet treats like this.
The Oreo becomes warm and soft inside, and the combination with melting vanilla ice cream is absolutely perfect.
Imagine a fluffy doughnut filled with gooey Oreo—that’s what it tastes like.
If you love sweet treats, you’ll definitely enjoy this!
